Sharon has been an incredible resource for me. I asked her to serve as a beta reader for my final draft of my YA novel, Path of Pins, Path of Needles. But she did so much more than that! She elicited questions from me about big issues and was meticulous in noting where she felt I addressed them throughout the manuscript and where I needed to make changes.

She has a special literary sensibility that allows her to surface thematic threads and find important connections that may not even be fully visible to the author. This is particularly helpful in pulling together complex material. She is great at keeping her eye on the ball and asking the most pertinent questions.

Sharon is also wonderfully encouraging! For every note suggesting a change or pointing out an issue, there were many more affirming a good turn of phrase or insight – buoying my spirits no end! And, of course, she has a sharp editorial and proof-reading eye. She was willing to “conference” with me at the end of the process as well, which is a really nice way of tying up any loose ends. The whole process was very affirming and gave me a clear sense of where I needed to go in my next revision. I’m obviously a fan!
