Having Sharon as a writing instructor in college was fun, and immensely beneficial to my assignments. While teaching and guiding my classmates and I through our work, she encouraged a sense of freedom in how we developed our own voice and what we wanted to discuss in our writing. Her teaching allowed me to learn more about a topic I found interesting, while showing respect and sensitivity to the audience, context, and genre. Through the variety of techniques and editorial methods she used, I became more comfortable with how one carries themselves through their writing, whatever the topic or format.
